Anti-Porn Protect children from porn web

Anti-Porn Protect children from porn web

One of parents' biggest Internet worries is "adult content," i.e. pornography. Anti-Porn from tuEagles is an easy-to-use program that helps parents take control of what their kids are exposed to online. Its filters block suspicious sites. If the parents or guardians (or whoever holds the password) approves of the site, they can allow access. Parents and adults can restore unfiltered access quickly without shutting down Anti-Porn by toggling to Parent mode. Anti-Porn takes screenshots and logs online activity when it's running, so parents can see just where their kids are hanging out online. It can even restrict the time they can spend on the computer. Anti-Porn is free to try for seven days.

When you install Anti-Porn, you're prompted to create and confirm a password. Don't lose it: you need it not only to toggle Anti-Porn on and off but also to uninstall it. The program's circular interface is dominated by a cartoon eagle mascot. He's dressed like a kid, but he delivers an adult wink when you switch to the program's Parent mode, which is also known as Adult mode. The eagle eye icon in the system tray seems more appropriate. Setting up Anti-Porn includes custom settings for Chat and Game restrictions, Sensitivity, Language, and BlackList and Whitelist entries. A slider lets you set the filter strength; the default setting is high but not the maximum. Anti-Porn has an excellent Help file with many screenshots to help you get it right.

We were mostly interested in how effective it is at filtering out adult content. In a word, moderately: it blocked common search terms with a holding page, but we were able to view questionable material accessed in specific searches, including Google images. But you can quickly enter keywords that let you limit access to other sites you don't want your kids to see. Your home isn't a democracy, and your children don't have a say in the matter of your responsibility to them. Defining pornography may be difficult, but you probably know it when you see it. Anti-Porn helps you keep your kids from seeing it, too.
